Department Profile

Department of Management Studies came into existence after establishment of School of Entrepreneurship & Management in the year 2023. It commenced with admissions in Doctoral Programme (Ph.D), Master of Business Administration (MBA) approved by AICTE, New Delhi and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).

Presently, the Department is running with substantial pool of experienced faculty members. The achievements of the faculty members are noteworthy in the field of research, Ph.D supervision, publications, participation in conferences, seminars, workshops and short-term refresher courses, organizing seminars, carrying research projects and participation in administrative responsibilities.

Laboratories


Computer Lab
The department has well equipped computer lab catering to the needs of the academic as well as grooming of budding managers. The lab comprises of more than 70 systems with Wi-Fi connectivity. The systems have advanced features such as Windows 7 Operating system, Core i3, 2GB RM, 400 GB Hard Disk, TFT Screen, etc. to give students a competitive edge.

The university also has a computer centre which supports University with 200 Mbps(1:1) fiber optic network that connects all the academic departments, library, hostels, residences and other central facilities to the Computer Centre. Internet access is provided through a 200 Mbps dedicated Multi Internet link. All systems (servers & clients) are equipped with 10/100/1000 mbps Ethernet cards. EXTREME Core switch is acting as back bone switch and protected by Sophos XGS 4500 firewall. It is a tree topology network. Installation of new 10G Cisco core switch is in progress and will be functional very soon. It has a power back up through a dedicated 5 KVA Online UPS.

Facilities


Library
The department has built up an extensive resource center of management studies. The department has a well-stocked library with more than 14000 volumes. It has books covering all aspects with the latest editions from the best Indian and foreign publishers. The library subscribes to 35 National and International Journals and 7 daily newspapers and books, magazines, periodicals, Journals and other literature. The library facility is available to the students till late evening hours.

Apart from this The Tagore Central Library of University is rich in learning resources having a strong back up multidisciplinary resources like books, journals, e-books, e-journals and online learning resources; apart from this, some of the achieved learning material is also available in soft/ digitized form. The Library provides open access system to its users. The subscription of e-resources and accessibility of UGCs e-platform INFLIBNET, etc. makes enriching experience of students of the University.

Canteen
East Campus of the University has a canteen serving vegetarian food such as snacks, fast food, tea / coffee / soft drinks and mixed meals. The canteen remains open from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. One canteen near workshop and a coffee café are also operational. Also the department Provides canteen facility located within the premises which provide excellent food of different variety prepared under hygienic conditions and with affordable prices.

Banking Facility & Health Service
The department provides these facilities within the campus. The Central Bank of India has its branch along with an ATM services with an access of 24*7. Health Insurance service is also providing to the students. These facilities are given to student within the campus so that may get financial assistance and scholarship from time to time.

Seminar Hall and Auditoriums
The department has fully Air-conditioned seminar hall with a seating capacity of 300. The seminar hall is endowed with the necessary audio-visual and presentation facilities. It makes possible, an ideal setting for carrying out various workshops and conferences.

The University has two Auditoriums; one auditorium is located in East Campus of the University with 300 seating capacity and another new auditorium is located in West Campus of the University with a capacity of 750.

Committee Room
The department has fully Air-conditioned committee room with a seating capacity of 30 persons. The Committee Room is endowed with the necessary audio-visual and presentation facilities. It makes possible an ideal setting for carrying out various faculty meetings and other administrative meetings.

Games and Sports

The University has one sports ground each in West and East Campus. University has excellent facilities for outdoor games such as Athletics, Cricket, Hockey, Football and Lawn Tennis and indoor games such as Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess and Gymnastics. We have a turf wicket for cricket in West Campus. A New Gymnasium with all facilities has been made operational last year. The department sports facilities are used to increase the student’s participation in extracurricular activities.

Hostel Facility
East Campus of the University mainly has administrative and academic department buildings. It also has hostels for boys of First year – two hostels namely – Shridhracharya Hostel and Shri Ramanujam and six hostels for girls namely – Alaknanda, Mandakini, Gangotri, Bhagirathi, Yamuna and Saraswati. Six hostels are available for senior boys in the West Campus namely- Abdul Kalam, Vishweshwaraya, Raman, Vishwakarma, Ambedkar and Aryabhatt hostel.

  2. A project “GIS base 55 DPR under IWMP Scheme by GOI” organized by STEP- HBTI, Kanpur.
  3. A project “Skill Development Training IWMP Scheme by GOI” organized by STEP- HBTI, Kanpur.
  4. An innovation project “Smart Switch under incubation center Scheme by MSME GOI” at STEP- HBTI, Kanpur.
