Appointment, Responsibilities and Powers as per HBTU Act 2016
  • The Dean of Incubation Hub shall be nominated by the Vice Chancellor, from amongst the Professors of the University. The emoluments, terms and conditions of service and powers and duties shall be such as may be laid down in the Ordinances. He shall work directly under the control of the Vice-Chancellor.
  • He shall hold office for a term of two years and may be eligible for reappointment for one consecutive term.
  • He shall be responsible for; (a) Industry-University Interaction; (b) management of Incubation Hub.
  • He shall be also responsible for general administration of Incubation Hub set up for budding entrepreneurs, students, teachers, and engineers, and competent technical persons from society selected with the approval of Executive Council. The University shall also provide support to them to generate equitable venture capital to establish a new industry based on products and processes developed in-house.
  • He shall recommend to the Executive Council, attachments of the teachers to the relevant industry from engineering/ technology/management disciplines once in three years, for a maximum period of 30 days during summer vacations, clubbed with Summer Training of students of concerned branch.
Facilities and infrastructure of Incubation Hub
The Plan for developing facilities and infrastructure of Incubation Hub is as following:

  • First Phase of Implementation: In this phase minimum required resources to establish the office of dean of incubation hub will be established.
  • Second Phase of Implementation: Incubation Space i.e. Facilities to be offered to the incubated companies on an individual basis will be established.
  • Third Phase of Implementation: Establishment of Training, Research and sustainable Facilities will be considered in this phase, i.e.
    • Laboratory to transform ideas into real-time engineering objects
    • Integrated digital environment for Innovation, Integration, Incubation and Implementation
    • Ideation Accelerator will be established with the generous funding with the support of Funding agencies that would be a soft facility in the domain of embedded systems, platforms, algorithms and IT related ideas.
    • Entrepreneurship Research and Training Centre will aim to conduct cutting edge research, teaching and training in entrepreneurship in the Indian context by utilizing the facilities of Incubation Hub and the existing intellectual pool in the University.
