- The Vice-Chancellor, if he considers necessary, may appoint a Pro-Vice-Chancellor from amongst the Professors of the University with the prior approval of the Executive Council.
- The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall be a person who has held the post of Professor.
- The Pro-Vice Chancellor, of the University shall discharge his duties in addition to his duties as Professor.
- The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall hold office at the pleasure of’ Vice-Chancellor.
- The Pro-Vice- Chancellor shall assist the Vice-Chancellor in respect of such matters, as may be specified by the Vice-Chancellor on his behalf from time to time and shall preside over meetings of the University in the absence of Vice-Chancellor and shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be assigned to him by the Vice-Chancellor.
- Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall be paid honorarium as may be determined by the University.
- The term of Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall be co-terminus with the term of the office of the Vice Chancellor or ill he attains the age of 60 years whichever is earlier.
