Computer Centre

Computer Centre caters to the computing needs of the faculty, staff and students for their research and teaching. It has a number of state of the art servers, high end linux and windows labs and application software.
Computer Centre supports an institute wide 200 Mbps(1:1) fiber optic network that connects all the academic departments, library, hostels, residences and other central facilities to the Computer Centre. Internet access is provided through a 200 Mbps dedicated Multi Internet link. All systems (servers & clients) are equipped with 10/100/1000 mbps Ethernet cards. Cisco Layer 3 10 Gbps(Q2) Core switch is acting as back bone switch and protected by Sophos XGS 4500 firewall. There is a backup RF connection set up for in case OFC media outage. It is a tree topology network. It has a power back up through a dedicated 5 KVA Online UPS.
Computer centre presently has around 150 computers connected into LAN providing internet access and programming facilities to all software related laboratories of all the departments of the University.
Wi-Fi Facility
HBTU WiFi service is available at all Hostels, Academic buildings, Smart classroom, Work shops, Library and Administrative building and supported with 24×7 helpline for users to resolve any connectivity issue.

The connection is provided through fiber cable leased line from BSNL and there is a backup RF connection set up for in case OFC media outage.

The network is provided with 1 Gig bandwidth delivered through Access points installed at all premises.

Log in to WiFi is available only to the students and faculty/staff members registered as per list approved by the University.
